Happy Khmer New Year 2026

Khmer New Year is a traditional ceremony that originated in ancient times. The New Year is celebrated to achieve the following 6 goals:

  1. To maintain or make the existence of our beautiful tradition last forever in this world.

  2. To strengthen the solidarity, brotherhood, as well friendship, among our fellow Khmer nation.

  3. To wish for good luck, happiness, and peace for ourselves.

  4. To have our fellow Cambodians stay out of negligence and merit for every step of life.

  5. To gratefully pay back the favour of our ancestral fountainhead living or passed away parents and grandparents; meanwhile, may we dedicate the merit to our ancestors and relatives.

  6. To respect and support Buddhism which we believe is the best way for prosperous, glorious, and happiness of human beings in this world forever.
